Pom Fluffing Instructions
- Place the pom in front of you with the baton handle parallel to your legs.
- Find the staple and skip the first 10-15 strands.
- Starting with about the 16th strand, pull one strand to the Right and the next strand to the Left. Firmly pull down as far as you can.
- Continue pulling the strands, alternating left and right until you finish all the strands on one side.
- NOTE: You can pull the strands in the opposite directions at the same time to go faster.
- Turn pom over and repeat.
- Periodically shake the pom hard to loosen strands and comb pom strands with fingers to help create the desired ball-shape.
- If your poms get wet from rain, completely shake them of excess water and then lay them out on a towel to dry overnight.
- Store your team's poms in a ventilated bag as opposed to a plastic container. A mesh laundry bag or even an old pillow case works very well. Never use plastic bags to store your poms. The lack of air flow will cause your poms to mildew!
